QUESTIONS/ANSWERS
Snorkeling Waikiki FAQ
What should I bring on my Waikiki snorkeling tour?
Bring a bag with a towel, sunscreen and any personal belongings. We have snorkeling gear available on the boat as well as a dry area to store your bag. If you have any of your own personal snorkeling equipment you are welcome to bring it along. We have dry areas on the boat to store your bags as well.
How long are your snorkeling tours?
Our Turtle Canyons Snorkeling Excursion is two hours long with approximately one hour of snorkeling. Our Deluxe Snorkel and Wildlife Cruise is 2.5 Hours long.
Which of your tours is the best for me?
If seeing turtles if your main goal then we suggest our Turtle Canyon Snorkel Excursion. While it is very likely that you will see turtles on our Deluxe Snorkel and Wildlife Cruise we do not see them 100% of the time. If you have children (or you are a kid at heart) that you think will enjoy our waterslide, trampoline and a more relaxed pace tour then the Deluxe Snorkel and Wildlife Cruise could be the one for you. Another thing to note is the popularity of the Turtle Canyon’s reef. At turtle canyons there will be multiple boats and more people in the water looking for the turtles. On our Deluxe Snorkel and Wildlife Cruise we will be the only boat at the reef as it does not visit turtle canyons, so the crowds are not a factor.
When is the best time to snorkel in Waikiki?
Morning is generally the best time, as the waters are calmer and visibility is clearer.
Where are you located?
Our boats are located in Kewalo Basin Boat Harbor, 1125 Ala Moana Blvd, Slip B-11, Honolulu Hawaii 96814. Check in time for tours is 15 minutes prior to departure. There is a paid parking lot at the harbor (approx. $2 per hour) although we suggest taking an Uber/Lyft or taxi as parking can fill up, especially during holidays and weekends and this lot services the entire harbor and adjacent beach.
How old do you have to be to go on the tour?
The minimum age to join any of our tours is 3 years old.
How long is the boat ride to Turtle Canyons?
It takes about 15 minutes to get to turtle canyons from Kewalo Basin. On the way out we will get you all of your snorkeling gear, explain how to use everything if it is your first time and talk a little about the marine life and area that we’ll be snorkeling in.
